Let’s do again next year. Good job and thank everyone for all the work that they did.

I appreciated all the work that was obviously put into this conference. The Lord was definitely there and glorified throughout the entire thing. It was sad to me that there were some issues like Shane Claiborne’s late flight and Christine Pohl’s inability to attend, but the Lord worked things out. Thanks to all those who were willing to step in when there was a need- to Shane Garrison when Shane Claiborne hadn’t arrived and to Shane Claiborne and Christine Pohl’s student when Mrs. Pohl was unable to be there. We need to give extra grace and sympathy to Mrs. Pohl during her time of grieving.

The breakout sessions that I attended were great this year. I really appreciated John Mark’s songwriting breakout. I’m not a songwriter but so much of what he had to say i could apply to myself as an artist. He spoke about how for every 10 songs he writes, he may have 1 good one and how sometimes you just have to start with nothing and slowly it forms into something- not to be afraid to play around with it. The same thing applies to painting and the Lord wants me to be okay with it.

I appreciated Shane Claiborne’s breakout, too. It was nice to have an opportunity to sit down and ask him questions first-hand. As I read his book I had several things in mind to ask, but never actually realized that I would have that opportunity. Shane’s words have stirred my heart with many things I have read of his. One example would be, “God loves humanity so much that watching us kill ourselves is absolutely intolerable, so God saved humanity through the flood.” wow.

Eric Hurtgen’s breakout was also amazing. I love his work and I know that he regularly paints just for the Lord and in worship. I enjoyed being able to hear his take on things and be able to relate to an artist because you don’t find much art in the church around here.

Overall, the conference was amazing. So much spoke to my heart and I loved the worship with John Mark as well. It was a great couple of days to hear from the Lord, hear real life application from amazing people, and be intimate in worship with an awesome community of believers. thanks everyone!

Hey WACO9! This year was a great event! I loved the selection of speakers. Of course, it would have been great to hear Christine Pohl, but things happen, and you made good decisions on how to fill her spots. I went to the breakout session on Thursday of the guy who took her spot and he was very good. I thought all the speakers were great, but presented very different view points. I like hearing speakers that agree with me (maybe that’s a fault), but it was good to hear the other side of things as well.
I wasn’t able to make it to the concerts, but I heard they were great. Rachael Hurt was awesome, as usual. She is really great at leading worship and has an amazing voice.
One constructive criticism… for those of us who have attended WAC each year, there aren’t a lot of new breakout sessions. I’ve been to all of them now. Josh Hensley’s breakout session was awesome and I enjoyed Shane Claiborne’s, but I had been to the rest. There were limited options to those who have attended each year.
One more comment. I wish, in light of social justice concerns this year and last, that you would have provided fair trade coffee. Let’s think about our Christian brothers and sisters who need to send their kids to school and can’t because they aren’t paid enough for their coffee.
Great job, guys! Keep it up!

I really enjoyed this years WAC. Rachel Hurt did a fabulous job in leading us in worship and opening our hearts to Jesus. And Shane Claibourn really brought amazing truths and challenges throughout his sessions. The life he leads is an inspiration to truly seek a life of hospitality, and even though this may not mean living a life exactly how he lives out, it definitely is inspiring and challenging to see how this may apply to ones own life. And i pray that over time the challenge will not fade but truly grow stronger. For me and for everyone else touched by his words.

The concerts were awesome! Ecspecially Charlie Hall.. i felt like He was such a great minister along with musician… The words he spoke were very encouraging and i wish he could of done a big session, so we could of heard even more from him!

Overall this years WAC was very encouraging and i really believe the Lord used this conference to touch many..and speak to many people’s hearts.
